Pretoria (South Africa).- (FILE) - South African Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius arrives at the High Court for the 5th day of his sentencing during the ongoing murder trial, Pretoria, South Africa, 17 October 2014 (reissued 04 January 2024). South Africa's Department of Correctional Services (DCS) stated that the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board (CSPB) in November 2023 decided to place inmate Oscar Pistorius on parole, effective from 05 January 2024. 'Pistorius shall be admitted into the system of Community Corrections and will be monitored until the expiry date of his sentence in 2029', the department said in a statement on 03 January 2024. Pistorius, a former Paralympic athlete, has been in jail since 2014 for the killing of model and girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to 13 years and five months in prison. El Cuerpo de Bomberos del Distrito Nacional en colaboración con la Alcaldía del Distrito Nacional (ADN), realizarán este vienes 05 de enero el tradicional desfile de Reyes Magos para el disfrute de los niños y residentes de la capital, con el despliegue de los personajes Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar.
La cabalgata de los Reyes Magos iniciará a las 6:00 de la tarde desde la sede principal del Cuerpo de Bomberos del Distrito Nacional, ubicada en la Av. Mella, con salida por la calle Emilio Prud’Homme. El recorrido continuará por las Avenidas México, La Duarte y La Mella, así como las calles Arzobispo Meriño y El Conde, hasta regresar al punto de partida para disfrutar de un espectáculo final.
